Blues legend Johnny Winter returned to Chicago Sept. 17th for the 3rd time this year. His last trip was this past March when he played 2 nights at City Winery. This time Winter played another great venue to see blues at SPACE in Evanston. The great thing about SPACE is they have many legends weekly like Winter play there. Winter played SPACE for 2 nights. Winter played a number of his famous covers including "Jumping Jack Flash," and "Gimme Shelter" by the Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode," "Sonny Boy Williamson's "Good Morning Little School Girl," Robert Johnson's "Dust My Broom," and Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor." At 69 Winter still sounds great and his playing is always phenomenal especially when playing slide on a song like "Dust My Broom." Winter's band of Paul Nelson (Guitar), Scott Spray (Bass), and Tommy Curiale (Drums) kept everyone on their feet the whole night. Winter is a member of the Blues Hall of Fame, Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, and was ranked at 63 on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest guitarists. After the show fans came on the bands RV to meet Johnny, get something signed, and take a photo. If you missed Winter this time, be sure to catch him next time as you won't want to miss seeing this legend.

You could plan an entire vacation in Arizona going from ruins to ruins, but, if you're visiting Phoenix and you only have a day, be sure to drive about an hour and a half north on the I 17 to Montezuma Castle, a five story, 12th Century cliff dwelling which used to house the Sinagua people. It's an easy walk on a 1/3 mile loop trail, where you have a great view of the Castle. If you have time, drive 11 miles north and visit Montezuma Well, where you can view a natural sink hole and small dwellings built into the steep walls surrounding the hole. A sink hole may sound like a big yawn, but it really is an interesting place to visit.
About Winter:In 2005, a bottlenose dolphin was rescued from some crab trap lines in Mosquito Lagoon, near Cape Canaveral, FL. The lines had wound around the dolphin's tail, cutting off circulation. The 3 month old female dolphin was brought to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, where an intensive rehabilitation program began. She was named Winter because she was rescued in December.

The pressure that better known lakes will receive during ice fishing season makes small ponds a solid alternative for those that want to catch bass in the winter. Anglers find these shallower ponds freeze quicker than big lakes and allow them on the ice earlier in the season. Anglers should drill their holes all over the pond so as not to disturb the fish later on in the day. Many will suspend bait on tip ups at varying depths until a pattern develops that lets them know at what depth the bass are biting best.
Along with the foods, the desserts should be rich as well. Since most fruits are not seasonal in the winter months, serve custard, chocolate and liqueur flavors. Use cranberry and orange flavors to accompany and break the richer flavors or chocolates and liqueurs.
