| Cuyahoga Valley National Park has several picnic areas with tables and grills, as well as two picnic shelters with electricity and running water. Shelters and nearby grills can be reserved for picnics, reunions and other events through the National Park Service website. Most picnic areas are near trailheads and open, grassy areas. You can also visit any of the three privately owned golf courses within the park, explore the Canal Visitors Center, attend summer concerts or take part in ranger led nature programs, hikes and bird watching trips.

But all is not lost. We still see winter snowbirds, who either visit for the winter or have stayed through the summer. Skiing is not out altogether but the season is shorter. Of course if you are interested in New York City, the holidays in winter, make NYC even more appealing. Who doesn't love The Rockettes or Rockefeller Center with its huge Christmas tree?
